On the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1, join us for a retrospective of the popular music of the time before, during and after the Great War.
Emotional songs, like Keep the Home Fires Burning and There's a Long, Long Trail, showed how the War affected both those fighting and those waiting at home for their return. Patriotic songs, like Over There, that rallied the nations to help support the War Effort. Lighthearted songs, like How Ya Gonna Keep 'Em Down on the Farm, offered vaudevillian comic relief to war-weary Americans. Anti-war songs, like I Didn’t Raise My Boy To Be A Soldier, reflected an alternative view of the war. Both performances will be at Port Tobacco Players Theater (508 Charles St., La Plata, MD) PLEASE CHECK THE Port Tobacco Players WEBSITE FOR PARKING INFORMATION! Some areas are “off limits” for patrons at certain times. |
