Our 28th Season - 2023-2024
"Music of Our Time Together"

We opened our year with some familiar Christmas memories from the past with such selections as “Shepherd’s Pipe Carol” and “Carol of the Bells”.

Our featured work was the powerful Gloria by John Rutter with a Brass Ensemble and Percussion. Written in 3 movements, it starts with the Angels announcing to the shepherds “Glory to God”, moves to a slower movement asking God to show mercy and ends with a rousing doxology.

The Many Moods of Christmas – Suite 4 was originally arranged by Robert Russell Bennett for the Robert Shaw Chorale and includes 5 well know carols.

We closed with our community singing of “Silent Night”.

Our Spring concert featured many  of our favorites from past years.

American anthems included “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” that started us off and lead us to some special guest performances including The Arts4All Singers, a selection of spirituals, a work by our Composer-in-Residence (W.G. Pete Stokes), and much more.

The works in this concert were selected primarily by our original members and it was sure to bring back many melodic memories of our 25 years together.

Closing out our Anniversary season, we brought you highlights from some of our past Broadway concerts.

We featured songs from Gershwin and Bernstein as well as many other “toe-tappers” from great Broadway shows.

We sang a tribute to our Armed Forces; a variety of Irish tunes from our previous Shamrock Shenanigans performances, including “Over the Sea to Skye”, “Oh Whistle and I’ll Come to Ye” and of course “Danny Boy”; and many other familiar hits from the past.
