Our 29th Season - 2024-2025
"Gather as One"

We gathered as one to bring in the Christmas Season with some familiar carols, new Christmas melodies and, of course, a sing-a-long!

Our featured work for this concert
was the Chichester Psalms composed by Leonard Bernstein. This beautiful work, performed in Hebrew, was in three parts and highlighted six Psalms including Psalm 100  (Make a joyful noise unto the Lord ), Psalm 23 (The Lord is my shepherd) and Psalm 133 (Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren
to dwell together in unity).

We also had audience participation with
Silent Night and other favorites.

All Concerts were at:
St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Center
4590 St. Joseph Way
Pomfret, MD  20675

What a title!  What to expect?  Well, a little of everything!
The first half of the concert
featured the beautiful
Mass in G by Franz Schubert, along with an original work
The Passionate Shepherd by our own W.G. Pete Stokes.
Now that’s Love and Hope. The Humor came in the second half when we performed Oedipus Tex by P.D.Q. Bach. The "youngest and the oddest of the twenty-odd children" of Johann Sebastian Bach. P.D.Q. Bach is the alter-ego of Peter Schickele who left a big hole in the music world in January of 2024.  We had familiar guest soloists and instrumentalists for this concert.

We also held a food drive to benefit the Southern Maryland Food Bank.

If you loved reliving your life in the Sixties with us last year,
then you loved bringing back the Seventies this year!

We remembered groups like KC and the Sunshine Band, ABBA, Loggins and Messina, and Queen.

And who can forget Disco!

We reminisced with such favorites as Country Roads (John Denver), Jump Shout Boogie (Barry Manilow), & Joy to the World
(Three Dog Night).
